Follow these guidelines after your treatment to protect your results and keep your smile looking its best.
After a teeth whitening treatment the pores of your enamel are open, this makes them vulnerable to stains & can reverse the whitening benefit from your treatment. We recommend following the "white diet" for 24–48 hours after treatment. Taking care of what you eat & drink will keep your smile whiter for longer!
PLEASE DO NOT EAT FOR 2–3 HOURS AFTER YOUR TREATMENT.
Avoid extremely hot or cold liquids
The temperature change causes teeth to expand & contract, allowing stains to penetrate your teeth. Try cutting down on tea or coffee, or drink them with a straw to reduce the amount of time they are in contact with your teeth.
Avoid foods & drinks that are acidic
They open up the pores of the tooth enamel, allowing stains to easily penetrate your teeth. Use a straw to help minimise the contact of these substances with your teeth.
Cut back on drinking & smoking
Frequent consumption of alcoholic drinks & heavy smoking can reverse the effects of teeth whitening.
Follow-up treatment
We recommend a follow up treatment in 4–6 weeks to achieve the desired result. Keep in mind, the more regularly you whiten your teeth — the whiter your teeth will be!
To keep your tooth gem looking beautiful and lasting as long as possible, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully.
If your gem falls off
Don't worry — gems can be reapplied. Contact us to book a touch-up appointment. Do not attempt to reattach it yourself.
Longevity
With proper care, tooth gems can last several months to over a year. Routine touch-ups every 6–12 weeks are recommended for iced-out designs.
